Ötzi Alpine Marathon

A classic 42.195 km. long triathalon featuring mountain bike, running and ski events which takes participants from the low-lying valley apple orchards and vineyards right up to the high mountain glaciers with fantastic views of Juval Castle, summer residence of Reinhold Messner, well-known mountaineer and explorer, half way up on the Naturns Sonnenberg. Then up again through the beautiful Schnals valley to Kurzras and higher still as far as the Schnals valley glacier at 3,200 metres above sea-level, not far from the place where Ötzi, the famous Man from the Ice, was found. This truly great event covers an altitude difference of some 3,300 metres and is a challenge for only the fittest and bravest of athletes!www.oetzi-alpin-marathon.com
